Mamas

Mamas

Mamas has had a really rough go of it. She was rescued from a hoarder. She was greatly neglected and I cannot emphasis this enough. She spent about 3 long years living in her own personal hell. She is missing hair on her back end from a long term flea infestation to which she was allergic. Most of it has grown back, but there is an area in which it may never grow back completely. She is also missing some of her front teeth from long term neglect. There may have been physical abuse as well, but she doesn’t want to talk about those times.

OK, enough with the bad stuff. It has taken her some time to learn to trust people. Once she overcame her fear, she has blossomed into a very loving little girl. All she wants to do is snuggle in your lap and be loved. If your lap is not available, she is just as happy snuggling under and blanket on the couch. She does not like playing with any other dogs, but does well in a multi-dog household. If they get to close, she will let them know in no uncertain terms that this is unacceptable. But it’s all for show. All we have to do is clap our hands and say her name. That’s enough to get her to stop. Then she runs and hides under her blanket. It has taken her months to be able to walk on a leash and show any confidence in public. She’s not the type of Chihuahua that is a public diva, but she will offer you more love at home than you can ever imagine. She knows how bad it can be and is so grateful for her new life.
